ABOUT
URCOT
URCOT
is is a not-for-profit applied research and development centre. Established
in 1991 to assist managers, employees and their unions to maximise the
benefits from organisational and technological change, URCOT has evolved
to become a well respected and innovative research centre.
For over
a decade URCOT has provided research, facilitation, education and training,
and organisational development services to clients from a wide range of
organisations.
URCOT is
known for its commitment to:
- working
with and in workplaces to help create better outcomes for workers;
- rigorous
research and development work which can be subjected to independent
and professional scrutiny;
- collaborative
research, using management, workers and their unions to improve working
environments; and
- organisational
effectiveness.
Our staff
have developed substantial experience through working on projects with
federal and state public service agencies as well as with many community
based organisations, women’s services and local governments.
Our staff
are personally involved in a range of community-based activities. Apart
from project work, we teach, conduct various public education activities,
publish research reports and contribute to professional forums.
URCOT conducts
quality innovative research for a wide range of clients on a broad spectrum
of issues related to employment, industrial relations, human resources
and organisational learning and skills formation.
URCOT's

of Purpose
URCOT is an applied research centre committed to undertaking rigorous
research and development work which can be subjected to independent,
professional scrutiny.
URCOT works collaboratively with workers, their unions and management
to improve working environments and organisational effectiveness.
URCOT promotes and develops workers’ participation in shaping
organisational and technological change.
URCOT provides formal teaching, supervision, seminars and conferences
on topics related to organisational and technological change for unionists,
students and the general public.
Its research outcomes are published for trade union, corporate and
academic audiences.
